Terry Gilliam directs this tale of a cop on the trail of a missing girl. A book, The Defective Detective, about a knight and damsel in distress is his only clue to her whereabouts. He must enter this fantasy world to find her. Nicolas Cage was initially interested in the part, but Robin Williams and Jim Carrey have been rumored as well. Cameron Diaz may star as well. (Paramount)
